ITsAP (Formerly HYSEA), TiE and Cluster Pulse organized the launch of GTZ - STQC project on "Economic Development Through eGovernance" on Tuesday, 19th January 2010 at Taj Banjara.
German Technical Co-operation (gtz) The Indian and German government have agreed to promote a new bilateral technical cooperation initiative to support the introduction of high quality eGovernance and eBusiness services in the IT-SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) sector. The project “Economic Development though eGovernance” is jointly promoted by the Directorate for Standardisation, Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) and GTZ.
The objective of this project is to improve the competitiveness of SMEs of IT Industry and Manufacturing sector through the use of eGovernance, eBusiness and ICT services. This, in turn, shall lead to increased quality and business opportunities and, as a desired impact, to the creation of income and employment opportunities in the sector.
This project of “Economic Development Through eGovernance” is being launched “To enhance the competitiveness of Small and Medium IT Enterprise’s (IT SME’s). The implementation agency for the project is Cluster Pulse.
Shri JA Chowdary, Co-Chairman of FICCI, former President of HYSEA,TIE, MD of NVIDA, was the Chief Guest for the Shri SURESH CHANDA, IAS, Secretary, Education and former Secretary to Govt. IT&C was the Guest of Honour.
Earlier Shri U. K. Nandwani, CEO, STQC, IT Services, Welcomed the Gathering and invited Dr. Mrs. Ricarda Engelmeier, GTZ, New Delhi to Introduce the project for IT SME competitiveness. Shri Jagat Shah, Founder & Mentor of Cluster Pulse spoke on Project approach and Business opportunities for IT SMEs. Other dignitaries who spoke on the occasion include, Shri Srinivas Peddi, Centre Head, IBM, Hyderabad and Shri Murali Bollu, Chief Coordinator ITsAP SME Forum & CEO , ZEN QA.
More than 300 IT SMEs, software professionals and service providers attended this event.
In addition to ITsAP and TiE who are partners for this project NASSCOM, FICCI, FIEO, CII, STPI, are also extending the support to this initiative.
